Then God created the soil, the dust, and the rocks from the dust. God has created plants from the soil. God has even created different soils, plants, trees, flowers, etc.

Can we imagine the happiness of God when the first plant was born?

God loves diversity. He might have thought about the beauty of the planet. Wow, my planet is full of diversity. Then he has created animals from nature. Finally, he created humans.

He has bestowed kingdomship on humans by giving them intellect. God might have thought that humans are my vicegerent on the planet. They will take care of my nature, environment, and animals.

Humans have a powerful thing, and that is intellect. If humans have no intellect, then they are nothing but animals.

How blessed humans are. God has a plan to make a heavenly planet. Humans can make progress materially, so God has given the entire planet to humans. Humans can make spiritual progress through the practices bestowed. These practices aim to recognise oneself and who has created the human, the god.

These practices differ from place to place and language to language. Eventually, humans gave these practices the name of religion.

Everything was okay, but humans have developed desires, which have compelled them to forget the environment, nature, and God.

Otherwise, God created them a king to take care of nature. Have you ever seen different flowers fight with each other? Then how can different religious people fight?

Didn’t they read the holy Bhagwat Gita Maha Upanishad (Chapter 6, Verse 71–72)? God mentions, “The universe is a family.”

Similarly, if we check the holy Book Quran: Surah An-Nisa, Ayah 1, God said God had created humans from a single soul.

How can we fight? We are brothers and sisters.

Anyway, let’s get back to the original topic.

God loves diversity; hence, he has created diverse soil, trees, animals, flowers, and cultures.

It was humans’ duty to protect nature. When we see the sacrifice of an animal in religion, it doesn’t mean an actual animal. Humans are created from animals, so humans have animal desires. God asks to sacrifice it.

The Holy Quran (55:7–8) asks humans not to disturb the natural balance. And Holy Geeta (6:17) asks us to live with balance, a mindful life and take care of nature.

A good king takes care of his people, and humans are the king. But desire has turned humans into evil kings. Humans have cut down the jungle for the sake of money or self-interest. We are living in the era of global warming. Can we blame God? Oh no dear, we can’t.

God is merciful. He has created everything we need, but our desire has created the imbalance of the environment. We run to god when we face floods, cyclones, or sickness spreads. We ask for mercy, or we blame god. But god might be angry or smiling at the foolishness of the people because disturbing the environment is nothing but suicide.

God does not change people’s conditions, but people themselves do (Quran 13:11). Humans are the enemy of themselves (Holy Gita 6:5).

Humans are kings, and humans have a beautiful thing: intellect. Although damage is done, we still have time. We can still recover and create a beautiful planet God has wished for. Let’s spread peace and the echo of humanity and kindness. Otherwise, our planet will be silent forever.

Humans should take care of each other. God will bless humans if we start loving and taking care of each other. No one is a stranger on this planet. We are all brothers and sisters. We are all one true family.

Let’s cheer and break the silence so our planet won’t be a silent planet.

Let’s learn from each other, hug, smile, eat together, and finally, walk to the court of God and pray together with a great diversity and embracing plurality.

Thank you.

When I was walking along the road, I saw a big tree in the middle of an abandoned place. I was surprised to see it. I was looking for some shade, and I thought the Almighty had made it just for me.

I went and sat under that tree and took out my water bag, but there was only one drop of water left in it. I was a little worried. Just then, I saw a hand right in front of my eyes. When I looked, an old man was offering me water.

When you are hungry and thirsty, what formality do you remember? I immediately picked up the bottle and drank all the water.

I felt such relief and peace, something I had never felt before.

I wanted to thank that old man, but as soon as I opened my eyes after drinking the water, he had already left from there. The water bottle in my hand belonged to that old man.

I thought maybe uncle was in a hurry and had left.

No problem, I will come to the same place tomorrow, thank uncle, and return his bottle.

I came the next day and stood in front of the same tree. This time, I could only see the wet ground under the tree. I became sure that uncle had come even today, but I must have been late.

I thought, today I am not leaving this place at all.

The next day, around the same time, I heard the sound of someone coming. I thought I would go a little far and see. I went a little away, and meanwhile the old man arrived and started watering the tree.

He started watering that big, fully grown tree.

I was a little surprised. In this much heat, in such an abandoned place, how would someone come all the way just to water a tree?

I went a little closer and spoke to the old man.

“How are you?”

The old man did not give any particular reaction until his bucket became empty.

I asked him again, “How are you, uncle?”

Uncle said, “Just keep watering the plant.”

I was surprised again. What kind of answer was this, and what did it mean?

By the time I went to ask him, uncle had already left.

A strange restlessness woke up inside my mind. I thought, I am going to get this answer.

I noted the time and went there at exactly the same time the next day. Before uncle could start watering the tree, I held his hand.

Uncle got angry and pushed me.

I felt very bad. I was just about to leave from there when uncle held my hand and said,

“Today, you will water this tree.”

I thought, what is this, brother?

But uncle had given me water when I needed it, so I thought, okay, today I will return the favour.

With a swollen face, I poured the water onto the tree and also returned the bottle to him. I said thank you and started leaving.

Uncle called out,

“Why did you feel bad?”

I turned around and saw uncle standing there with a big smile.

That smile melted my heart, and I said,

“Of course I will get angry if someone pushes me like that.”

Uncle said,

“This is exactly the problem with us human beings. In today’s fast-moving world, we have forgotten a word like patience. My job was to water this thirsty tree. You created an obstacle in that, I got angry, and my patience also broke.”

But anyway, I am also a human being.

I asked him out of curiosity, “But uncle, you said, ‘Keep watering the plant.’ I don’t understand what that means.”

Uncle took me into his flashback.

Uncle said, “When I was young, maybe eight or ten years old, all the children from our school were given the task of planting saplings at this place on Environment Day.

We all happily planted our saplings.

I loved my plant very much. I used to come every day to water it, and all my friends used to come to water their own plants.

Then we would play together, have fun and enjoy ourselves a lot.

There was not even a thing called tension in our lives.

Our plants were also growing and blooming.

But as time kept passing, the number of children became less. More than half of them went outside for their studies, and there were only a few of us who kept coming to water the plants.

But because at that time we had to walk here, we could only bring one bucket of water.

And we human beings are selfish by birth.

We think about ourselves first.

So we only watered our own plants.

All the other plants dried up.

Then my college ended, I started working, my job started, and I became so busy that I also forgot about my plant.

I progressed a lot in life, but along with progress, a little greed, a little burden, everything increased.

In the beginning, it felt good.

But as life moved forward, a strange restlessness started.

Money came into the house.

A car came.

Everything came.

But that peace, you know, that was gone.

I thought maybe it was because of the workload.

So I tried smoking.

I also tried alcohol.

But nothing worked.

The same temporary relief, and then the restlessness started again.

When I looked in the mirror, I could only see a face, not a person.

A person who was like a dead man, only running behind money and success.

Someone who had forgotten his inner soul.

That soul was struggling.

It was dying.

Then my father died.

When I came home because of that incident, on the way back from the cemetery, I saw this place.

I saw this plant.

It was drying up.

All the other plants had dried up, only a little life was left in this one.

I went home.

That bucket was still lying in the courtyard.

I was crying.

I picked up that bucket and filled it with water.

Leaving the car keys behind, I walked here again.

I watered this plant.

And it felt as if the plant had given me a blessing.

I felt so much peace.

I made a decision.

I wanted to do the kind of work where, even if I earned less money, my soul would get peace.

I actually loved my work, but it used to take 12–14 hours out of my 24 hours, and the remaining time went into eating, drinking and sleeping.

So I thought, now I will do freelancing from my village itself and come every day to water this plant.

So for the last 60 years, I have made this my routine.

Come in the morning, water this plant, talk to it, then work, and in the evening come back and have a little conversation with it again.

After retirement, I would stay here most of the time.

But during all this time, this plant had become a tree.

There were no other trees around.

Only this one tree.”

When we came out from his flashback, There were tears in uncle’s eyes.

I hugged him.

I wondered, how would a tree talk?

But it was as if the tree had listened to me.

The tree said,

“Even now you don’t understand what it means to keep watering the plant?”

“I am only symbolic.

The real plant is your own life.

Just as this uncle had left the peace of his life and got caught in the rat race, all of you are caught in this rat race too.

And in this race, you have lost your peace.

So many children planted saplings, but everyone got tangled in the rat race.

Meanwhile, one uncle realised it, and today I have become a tree.

In exactly the same way, your soul, your life, is a plant.

Take out a little time and water it.

Meaning, spend time with it.

Talk to it.

Then you too will not have to wander around searching for this peace.

No addiction will give you peace.

Only your plant will give you peace.

So keep watering the plant.”

Uncle blessed me and left from there.

I opened my eyes, and it was as if I had received a clear message for my life.

I had to write about watering my plant.

Through my keyboard, I am watering this plant.

Now, in life, it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks.

I just have to turn this plant into a tree.

You too, keep watering your plant.

Don’t let it dry up.

Then my heart thought, what is the use of writing that never gets published, whether someone reads it or not, you should write, if writing gives peace to your mind, then this is enough.

Anyway, life is strange too. In childhood, we wanted to grow up, and now we want to become a child again. Millennials are a little sensitive by nature.

Because in childhood we got beaten by our parents and in school, teachers also used to beat us. Today, when we see our parents or go to schools, children are treated like kings.

Anyway, perhaps because of all the beating we received, we studied, got educated and somehow managed to get a good job, but who knew that life itself was going to give us a hard time.

We are the generation that bows our heads and keeps pleasing the manager, and our juniors speak to us directly on our faces, but still we go outside smiling and, while taking sips of tea, sometimes talk about cricket, sometimes Bollywood, sometimes politics and sometimes about our personal lives.

In the streets of the city, on the mobile screen and on the keyboard of the laptop, life has become so tangled that the child inside is crying and nobody is able to hear him. This same child, who is a part of nature, wants to merge into nature. He wants a peaceful place, far away from the noise of the city.

Anyway, today I have everything that I wanted, a good job, family, my own house, and still there is a kind of emptiness that keeps troubling my heart. And I don’t know what that emptiness is, but I feel like going to a place where there is nobody, only me, my book, my pen and nature everywhere.

I want to capture this nature through the camera, in words and in books in such a way that these memories never become separated from my heart. Whenever I see it, read it or listen to it, it should refresh the heart just like first love.

Often, we hear that people have become angry and impatient, but perhaps only a few people can recognize the footsteps of that child inside who is troubling us, and as a result, all these states of mind come in front of us.

That child needs to talk to himself, stand in front of the mirror and look at himself, style his hair, look at himself, smile and have a conversation with himself. But under the weight of responsibilities or through trends, that child is being ignored.

Here is a question for you, if you desperately want to talk to someone, want to meet them, and that same person ignores you, won’t you get angry?

Life is meant to be lived, not to be passed. Work is for life, life is not for work, if we can just understand this difference, perhaps we can walk on the roads of happiness.

Someone rightly said, “The biggest disease is, what will people say?”

Today, in this very race, we are so busy impressing people and showing fake friends things on social media that the name of life itself is not even coming on our lips. Oh, I am walking, what will people think, does he not have a car?

Oh, this car is an old model, people will laugh if I don’t buy an expensive car. Oh, I am not wearing branded clothes, then people won’t invite me. And in this race and in the statuses of social media, we keep getting more and more tangled.

“Oh, people won’t invite me,” but in that thought, you are not inviting yourself, brother. Just think about this once.

Care about people, but don’t become a victim of their narrow thinking.

I will walk, my health will remain good. I took my foot out from under the car and started walking to the gym, what kind of logic is this?

Yes, my car model may be old, but its only purpose is to help me travel. I will buy an expensive car and still keep it parked in the garage.

The more private life remains, the better it is. Go travelling, see nature and capture nature in your camera, capture yourself too, take selfies and make a big album, and looking at it with your family and being happy is what life is.

And by family, I mean the people who live in your house, not those distant relatives whom you keep trying to impress by putting status after status and raining photos in WhatsApp groups.

There is only one mantra to stay happy in life, love yourself first. Because if you don’t love yourself, then how will you love your family?

There is this one thing, if you don’t eat yourself and remain hungry, how will you go to work? And if you don’t go to work, then money won’t come, so will your WhatsApp friends come and fill your stomach?

No.

That’s why eat first, so that you stay healthy, and with a little hard work, feed your family and love them.

And whenever you feel that you are burning out, stress is coming, first of all put a brake on the vehicle of your daily life, sit in your car or catch a bus or train and go to a place where there is only you and nobody else, no noise of the city, no horns, no last task, no suggestion, no order, no status, no mobile, only you, nature, and your favourite activity.

In my case, it can be getting lost on a beach or in a jungle, reading a book and writing it into words, perhaps in your case it can be trekking, photography or something else.

So, this was my first article, my journey, my beginning.

And if you liked my words, then please support me.

Life should be such that there is no place for judgment, no worry about anyone’s likes, dislikes or comments.

Namastey.
